Excavator with full bucket will never stop its engine
the excavator is idling while no material is needed but with a full bucket will never shut off its engine

this is happening everywhere, with every excavator with a filled bucket

With a lot of mega excavators it can lead to a pretty high and unnecessary fuel drain

:punkiehmm: This is how excavators work -- the engine is not only for driving, the engine also maintains the oil pressure that keeps the excavator arm up -- if you always switch off the engine, it can happen that the excavator arm falls down under the weight ,,,,in real life the engines are almost only switched off when empty.
It's the same behavior for all vehicles, isn't it? When not performing any work, they idle, which draws 20% fuel and maintenance. Quite fair, imho.
no, other vehicles do not consume any fuel, even when fully loaded and idle
which is realistic

trucks stop their engine when standing still. trains shut off too when they idle at a station

every excavator. but if i knew no truck was coming i wouldnt pick up a bucket full of material in the first place OR put the bucket on the ground and shut off the engine
because there is nothing worse than a boss thats mad because you left the excavator idling ALL day because your bucket was full
partly. they shut off when they dont do anything and idle when even a single piece of cargo is loaded/unloaded
yes, if you pause them then they still continue to load/unload
which means that having engine working seems more like a bug than a need
i paused the input and the engine is stopped. it will start as soon as a single cargo unit is loaded

i meant pause train, and loading still works
Trucks still draw 20% maitnenance when they're idling, as everything, right?
16% when idling on surface?
The excavator operators union has enforced a policy that operators are entitled to air conditioning 24/7
