This image is like mid collapse, I've found that placing lifts like leading into each other, usually without any gaps between them can cause terrain collapses. They are generally small, but they cause the lifts to collapse after being placed, obviously becoming trash. I've had areas that have had 3-4 times of replacing lifts then collapses before they've actually stayed.
placing two lifts resulted in the collapse of this area and the conveyors next to where the lifts were placed
i placed these while paused and then this happened right when i unpaused
now the terrain is corrupted looking
sometimes, the placement forces terrain to snap to the bottom
then immediately disappears, resulting in this
this allows me to create infinite resources
@Captain Matt Does this give enough information for this to hopefully be solved?
It's not limited to lifts, when you place any type of entity, the terrain is adjusted a bit to reduce collapsing warnings\problems.
Maybe we can avoid that if the entity can be supported by pillars
well the game shows it as supported by pillars but when it is placed, it places by modifying the terrain instead and this causes collapses and material duplication
but sometimes lifts can't be placed when it would seem it should be possible
also sometimes a lift can only be placed one direction?
as well as rotating them changing the terrain..
