Train networks don't consider storage settings (only if above)

For whatever reason, my network trains aren't depositing all of their materials at the dropoff point. This causes them to eventually force-depart with a partial load still in the wagons, return to the waiting area, and immediately depart again to try to drop off the partial load at the same station that it just failed to deposit into. This then repeats.

  • Train #27 departed from station due to prolonged inactivity
  • Train #27 departed from station due to prolonged inactivity
  • Train #27 departed from station due to prolonged inactivity
  • Train #27 departed from station due to prolonged inactivity

You get the idea.

The station isn't full to begin with, so I don't know what the issue is.

It stopped, dropped off 0 of its 531 crushed titanium despite there being plenty of room, and departed immediately

It's the only train in the network carrying crushed titanium

SOLVED

Train networks don't play well with "Receive from belts only below X" - It sees what's intended to be space for trucks to bring loose material as space to deliver products

Can we get that "Receive from belts only below X" implemented as a reduction in train space?

Working as Intended? looks like it caught a real setup miss-config

Seems to me that the “misconfiguration” (limiting belt input, the way that the station generally transfers it’s cargo to additional storages) should either be explicitly warned against, or the yellow slider should modify the max station capacity for unload stations (possibly the blue slider as well, for loading stations).

Two use cases for having these sliders respected are 1) so trucks can still drop off material into the storage and 2) being able to fully build a new station without completely draining buffers of material that may be needed elsewhere - start with the big storage only holding a small amount, then once things stabilize, increase the capacity with the slider.

The second. If I have it set to only accept 50% by belt I would like the station to treat it like it has 50% capacity.

Similarly for loading stations, "Output only above" should reduce the read supply to only what's above that line

Eg., a storage with 600 total capacity, "output to belts only if above 300", with 450 in the storage.

In this case, the station should only be able to "see" 150 (the amount that's available to be dispensed)
