Not sure what happened but I am no longer able to change game speed after several hours of play. x1, x2, x3 make no difference. Never had this happen before. Is there some setting/hotkey that I toggled mistakenly? Running vanilla. Any help appreciated.
Stuck On Slow Speed
Logs? Does the issue stay after a game reload? Or save reload?
Yes, it persisted even after completely closing the game and reloading the save. Not sure about any logs or where to find them.
Really odd. My FPS is showing consistently over 200. Maybe something external is interfering somehow or my GPU is acting up.
Here is the log from this session
Game just fixed itself. Back to correct speed. Took a long time, though, but I'm glad it reverted back. Thanks for help.
Check the adaptive simulation speed setting, the default is now "predictive". Old behavior was "uncapped".
Simulation speed is reduced if the system is not able to maintain an acceptable framerate, you can see target and actual speed hovering the speed arrows (top-right).
Setup:
4.2 GHz 16 thread / 8 core procesor and watercooled RTX 3070 from Nvidia
Before 4.2: 20 FPS - 1-3 x was OK
After 4.2: 30 FPS - 1x only
The 4.2 is now using all my CPU cores to satisfy the graphics instead having proper simulation updates.
In case you added ECS (Entity Component System) to the rendering, please add option to define how many paralelization threads for Burst is allowed for render.
I needd sometime fastforward the game and not it is no longer possible, in 4.1 it was still possible
There is a setting to turn off predictive mode, FPS will suffer. (we are not using ECS)
But then is not visible the actual speed
Ok, the new models of tproducts helped more it seems, the predictive flow is not needed for me to have same graphical output
