Unit modules for trains not loading/unloading since update

Trains
smileyleg smileyleg · 1 day ago

Issue description

Trains just sit at the station, not loading unit cargo. Loose cargo works fine.

Also looks like unit cars are trying to load two separate item types.

Reproduction steps

See train at station for unit pick up.

Two item types get assigned to first car.

Car does not load items.

Game version and build number

v0.8.8b (b631)

Can you share the save? i don't think it's related to the last update.

This save contains a lot of mods and no one else has reported a similar, please check the logs or share them so we can rule them out.

Definitely could be a mod issue but it does seem update-related: everything was working right before update and if I revert to 0.8.7d everything works fine.

Attached:

  • working.save (last save pre-update, unit modules work fine)
  • 26-11-06_01-05-20_7551.log (log file for running post-update with issue)

Also, thanks for your help and so much for the game!

I also have this issue, though it seemed rather sporadic in 0.8.8 and only started regularly occuring as of 0.8.8c

After some testing, it seems the Storage++ mod is to blame.

The issue only happens with unit modules, other station modules load/unload as intended. The unit modules will say "Loading" or "Unloading" in their tooltip while the train is parked, but they aren't actually doing so or playing the animation of the process. The train will also never leave as a result.

My only mod overlaps are Storage++ and RetainingWallsNeverDie.

I've used Storage++ to modify the internal capacity of station modules to 2000 across the board, though setting that back to vanilla values during an ongoing session (via the mods control panel) does not fix the problem.
Fully uninstalling the mod and then loading the save does fix it. The previously stuck trains will immediately load/unload and carry on.

EDIT: It seems to be specifically the Station Throughput Setting of the mod. Setting the item throughput of all my station modules back to vanilla values using the Mori++ suite immediately fixes it, even with the mod still active and during an ongoing session.

If @smileyleg can replicate that, i've made a post here to inform the mod author
