Game froze in world map view. No Mods. I clicked on a village and the resources page partly was visible (transparent) and the game stopped responding at that point. I have attached the logs.
Game Freeze In World Map View
Based on the log file you provided, the is encountering an error related to a tree harvesting vehicle trying to load a broken asset state from your save file.
The critical error line in your log points to this specific function:
E 10:58:41,943 ... Attempting to recover trimmed tree GO with no data. at Mafi.Unity.Vehicles.TreeHarvesterMb.recoverTrimmedTreeGo ().
Why Did This Freeze the World Map?
Even though you were looking at the world map view when the game stopped responding, the freeze is actually a background simulation issue. When you loaded your save file named "Tutorial", the game simulation initialized and began running in the background.
Roughly 2 seconds after the game successfully finished loading, a Tree Harvester vehicle on your island attempted to resume cutting down a tree that was already partially trimmed before you last saved. Because the data for that specific "trimmed tree" GameObject (GO) is missing or corrupted inside the save file, the game loop threw a fatal error and became entirely unresponsive.
How to Fix It
Since you have 0 mods installed, you can rule out mod conflicts. To bypass this corrupted tree data loop, try the following steps:
- Load an Older Autosave:
- Go back to the main menu and look for a recent autosave or an earlier manual save file created before the issue started. This is the fastest way to bypass the corrupted tree state.
- Clear Current Vehicle Commands (If you can open the save):
- If you have a save that lets you play for a few seconds before freezing, immediately pause the game.
- Find any active Tree Harvester vehicles or Logging Camps and toggle them off, or pause their assignments. This might prevent the vehicle from executing the broken line of code.
- Verify Integrity of Game Files:
- Open your Steam Library.
- Right-click on Captain of Industry and select Properties.
- Go to the Installed Files tab and click Verify integrity of game files...
- This ensures that no core base game files or asset bundles are missing or corrupted on your hard drive.
