Global search(Ctrl + Shift + F) starts to work when you type at least two characters. In Chinese localization, sulfur is called "硫", sugar is called "糖", salt is called "盐". The search function refuses to work if you type only "硫", "糖" or "盐", and you can't find those items if you type more characters.
