Instead of generic "food", each crop produces the indicated crop. As a later demand for your pops as you increase housing tier they could demand a variety of food, with a minor unity bonus for a diverse diet. Could ramp up as you gain access to different foodstuffs, i.e. corn, wheat, livestock (?), dairy (?), etc.
