In-depth look at Solar power, day/night, and shifts

I had like 5000 characters I wrote on this, and I'm going to have to trim it down. In short, Instead of splitting each 2-second day into night and day periods (which will only very poorly simulate the effect of solar power and how you respond to it), give each machine three shifts. Working only day shift means the machine works at 33% speed and has 1/3 of the workers. Behind the scenes, you make three separate electricity resources, one for each shift. Solar can only make "day" electricity. Batteries can convert between electricity resources. Maybe you can break it down further into six sections so 2ed shift gets partial coverage. Wind levels might vary every 4/8 hours (in other words, make a random mix of virtual electrical resources that varies every day). I will post the whole thing on the discord.
