Smarter ship travel routes

When my ship is done exploring one location connected to my shipyard and I choose to explore another one that's directly connected to the shipyard, travel the direct route instead of traveling the long route via home. Would be nice to save some time and fuel.
(In the image: take the green route instead of red)

Would also be nice if the areas that are too far away because I am low on fuel should be greyed out so that I could tell at a glance whether I can get there in the first place.
