They should approach the docks from the direction this arrow is pointing then be pulled sideways close to them. Maybe with a few mooring lines being tossed out and attaching to posts as a nice little detail. And when departing they should be pushed sideways away from the docks then depart rather then the current reverse and move forward motion.
