Double click the research node to queue it for research.

I restarted several times now and it kinda annoying to move the mouse left and right just to add reseatch to queue for the several early game research options. Please allow us just double click on the node to queue it, or press a specific button, space for example, while its highlited.

Haha, good thing I checked since I just demanded this exact feature in discord.
This would be a real qol for me
