Different colours for each of the levels of pipes would make it easier at a glance to see if you need to upgrade a run of pipes.

This is already implemented: T1 pipes are narrow and all-gray, T2 pipes are thicker with blue panels along the side, and T3 pipes are the thickest of all with red chevrons along the side.
