A key industrial metal missing from the industrial complex is Aluminium. In order to process this the bayer process would be needed, which would require crushing, caustic treatment (the opposite of using an acid) and then electrical casting, and also result in a caustic byproduct either needing dumping or treating with acid to neutralize. the casting should require a big amount of power like in real life so would add a bit more cost to production. . This metal could be incorporated into later game for electronics/chips, some machine/equipment parts, as well as luxury (Co2, sugar, aluminum for cans)

I was thinking about this as I was needing out over on Wikipedia about chemistry and physics.
From what I understand there are two smelting steps to aluminium with an intermediate product anima (iirc) which can be made into paper (????). So it might be an interesting way to add another paper recipe late game.
NASA’s space launch system (Artemis program) is made of aluminum so it wiild be cool if the rockets were made of aluminum. It could even be an upgrade from steel, which is heavy and inefficient for space travel.
To me it would be a good late game metal/alloy for maintenance IV (space stuff) and space construction parts.
