A continuous extrusion machine could be a cool alternate way to make metal plates.

A continuous extrusion machine that runs way faster then the mold casters but has a long warm up time and needs to restart it's warm up cycle if it runs out of molten metal could be a cool alternate way to make plates.

Really like the idea of any mechanic where you have greater complexity for greater productivity. And incentivizing large batch production / ensuring machine has consistent feedstock seems neat.
