Open helipart + Cargo Helicopter l - ll - lll

Hello, I’m Tammy, a mod tester from Mori++ – Kayser’s team.

I’ve been testing your mod, and I like the overall idea. However, I noticed several issues almost immediately that should be addressed:

  1. Open Heliport T2 placement
The Open Heliport T2 can be placed through walls and other objects. The game still allows it to be constructed even when part of the building is inside a wall. It needs proper collision detection and placement restrictions.
  2. No production inputs or outputs
There are no input or output requirements for building additional helicopters. At the moment, helicopters are simply purchased using Unity, which makes the production building feel incomplete. It would be much better if helicopter production required materials, workers, fuel, mechanical parts, or other resources.
  3. Assembly-line 3D model and overall appearance
I like the idea of the parking areas and the general layout, but the assembly-line model looks unfinished and visually confusing. At the moment, it resembles a flat test platform or placeholder asset rather than a completed helicopter production facility.

There are too many floor markings, which makes the area look cluttered and difficult to understand. The exposed framework, scattered equipment, and large empty spaces do not clearly show how the helicopters are supposed to be assembled. Some objects also appear to be placed randomly, and the overall scale and layout do not feel natural.

The model is missing important visual details such as proper workstations, tools, machinery, storage areas, structural elements, lighting, walls, or a roof. Compared with the size of the platform, there is very little detail that makes it look like an active and believable helicopter assembly line.

The model should be redesigned with a clearer production flow. It should be easy to understand where the helicopter parts arrive, where the helicopters are assembled, and where the finished helicopters are moved or parked. Right now, it simply does not look finished or visually appealing. It feels more like an early development version than a final model.

  1. Helicopter flight movement
The helicopter’s flight animation and movement look very buggy. It frequently stops in mid-air and moves unnaturally from side to side and back and forth. This becomes especially noticeable when using the camera’s “Track this vehicle” function. The flight path and animations need to be made much smoother and more natural.
  2. Scrap Vehicle function does not work correctly
The Scrap Vehicle function does not work properly when it is used on a helicopter. After clicking the scrap button, the helicopter simply stops and remains frozen in the air. Around 20–40 seconds later, it suddenly despawns without returning to the heliport, a parking area, or the vehicle depot.

The helicopter should first complete or cancel its current flight, return to a valid heliport or parking spot, land properly, and then be sent to the depot to be scrapped for parts. It should not remain suspended in mid-air and disappear without any animation or explanation. The current behavior looks like a bug and makes the scrapping feature feel unfinished.

The mod has potential, but these problems make it feel unfinished. Fixing the placement system, adding proper production mechanics, improving the assembly-line model, smoothing out the helicopter movement, and correcting the scrapping system would make it look and play much better.

Hi Tammy,

Thank you so much for taking the time to test out the mod and for providing such detailed feedback! I really appreciate all the effort you put into this.

Just to give a bit of context, I’m a solo developer working on this project by myself. Creating this mod has been a real challenge in itself, and unfortunately, free time is pretty scarce for me right now. This mod is my attempt to dive into programming, so I knew from the start there would be bugs and rough visuals.

To be completely honest, I’m a total beginner when it comes to 3D modeling. Creating even those landing pads took me over 5 days of grinding 20 hours a day, mostly because I had to learn modeling and rendering from scratch on the fly! Getting this mechanic to work at all was a huge uphill battle.

That said, I should have some free time opening up soon, and fixing these bugs (along with polishing the models and mechanics) is definitely high on my to-do list.

Look, I totally get that you guys want a polished, finished mod, so I’m really sorry about all these rough edges! I’ll do my best to fix everything and get it into good shape.

Thanks again for the thorough write-up—it’s super helpful!

Hello, I’m Tammy, a mod tester from Mori++ – Kayser’s team , thanks for explaining everything.

And don’t worry, my feedback wasn’t meant as an attack. I actually think the mod has a really good idea behind it, which is why I took the time to write everything down.

I honestly didn’t know you were doing all of this alone and learning programming and 3D modeling at the same time. That’s really impressive, especially for a first project.

There’s no need to fix everything right away. Take your time and focus on the biggest bugs first. I’d say the helicopter movement, scrapping and heliport placement are the most important things right now. The models and production system can always be improved later.

Also, please don’t work 20 hours a day on it. It’s not worth burning yourself out.

I’d be happy to test future updates and send you more feedback. The mod definitely has potential.

Wow!!! Guys, today you are my heroes! Seriously!

One for providing SUCH feedback that I couldn't stop reading — everything laid out on the shelves, without any emotional coloring, just as it really is. And the other for starting to do this from scratch without knowing anything about it! Damn, @pique, you're especially my hero — for grasping such complex programming and modeling tasks in such a short time, it's truly admirable! Respect! Sincerely shaking your hand!
