I alt-tab dozens of times a day with COI and never had a crash that way before.
You can use a balancer to do the same thing. Set priority on where you want it to go and have the excess go elsewhere
Allow train lines to connect to a bridge that does not go to the ground. Will allow higher lines than just elevating the rail line and allow the big diggers under.
I have had then same issue. When the save loads it goes into pause as normal. However no sounds made if you place or delete things while it does this. Unpause and then it all works fine. It seems to be since the last update 8.4b
Nope 2nd method did not work either. While it allowed me to deselect the mod when it loaded it through up an error.
The mod is working in this case but I am talking about if the author stops supporting it then hours of time gone.

Title says it all. If the mod stops working due to an update then the save is lost. Even if any item in the mod is not used it still says it is used so can't be removed.
Just allow us to remove the mod and let what ever was affected be destroyed.
