Mechanical Shafts v1.0.1

A Captain of Industry mod that adds compact mechanical shaft connectors for cleaner shaft layouts.

Features

Adds new mechanical shaft pieces:

• Straight mechanical shaft variants
• 90° mechanical shaft
• Directional T shaft variants
• Cross shaft junction

The shafts are organized under the Power toolbar in separate categories:

• 90° shafts
• Straight shafts
• T shafts
• Cross shafts

Installation:

1. Download the mod ZIP.
2. Extract the ZIP.
3. Place the extracted folder into your Captain of Industry Mods folder:

%APPDATA%\Captain of Industry\Mods

The final folder should look like this:

%APPDATA%\Captain of Industry\Mods\MechanicalShafts
├─ AssetBundles
├─ manifest.json
└─ RightAngleMechanicalShaft.dll

Do not place the files loose directly inside the Mods folder. The folder name must be: "MechanicalShafts"

Enabling the Mod:

1. Start Captain of Industry.
2. Open the Mods/DLC manager.
3. Enable Mechanical Shafts.
4. Start a new game or add it to an existing save if allowed.
5. Unlocked under Power Generation 2.
6. Find the new shaft pieces under the Power build menu.

Save Compatibility:

This mod can be added to an existing save.

Removing the mod from a save after placing its buildings is not recommended. If the mod is removed, any placed Mechanical Shafts buildings may become missing or cause save issues.

Always back up important saves before adding or removing mods.

Notes:

• These are manual shaft connector buildings, not pipe-style auto-routing pieces.
• Rotate or mirror the buildings in-game to match the direction you need.
• T shafts include multiple directional variants for different input/output layouts.
• The shaft network behavior is still based on Captain of Industry’s mechanical shaft system.

I created this mod because I was tired of being limited to how I created my power layouts. I have plans on making everything cleaner, balanced and fit the COI look. I just wanted to release this in case anyone else wanted to use it.
