This topicis mostly dedicated to my past suggestions... Let's go in order:
- Coal Generator: there is no point in changing it unless this change happens in tandem with the coal liquefaction chain. Right now, coal liquefaction has become even more useless, IMHO of course. Personally, I just don't care for it anymore—it’s much more profitable for me to just buy oil or grow cane.
- Batteries: there is no point in changing them if the T2 truck still consumes an equivalent of 2.88 MW (still 5 batteries per 60 seconds). For comparison, a hydrogen truck uses about 0.29 MW, or about 0.4 MW if the hydrogen comes from the 'Water + Electricity = Hydrogen' electrolysis chain. And this is without any fuel-saving policies taken into account.
So, regarding these points, please remove my name from the 'thanks for the suggestion' list on the changelog main page. Because it’s simply not true—this is not what I suggested. And I really dislike being associated with a ruined balance when my whole point was to try and fix it.
Questionable stuff:
- Synthetic diesel is OK. But with reservations: for internal consumption/production, the difference compared to direct hydrogen combustion is only about 3%. Questionable, but okay. BUT your 'sulfur -> sludge' route makes the whole process unprofitable. It’s way more profitable to just sell excess sulfur, buy sludge, turn it into fuel gas, send the CO2 to graphite, and use the hydrogen for its many applications. And that’s even considering ship fuel. Compost also useseful.
But:
- Electrolyzer balance: OK.
- Battery charging without teraflops: Agreed.
- Batteries require electronics for crafting: Agreed.
