Currently, if a truck is queued up to dump and you change dumping material settings, either via mining tower or global, or you delete the dumping designation, the truck still goes and dumps. The only way to stop it is to move the truck manually. This causes problems when you forget to change a setting real quick when setting up dumping rules/designations where trucks will dump unwanted materials. It would be nice if they would stop moving and re-evaluate thier job when dumping settings are changed when they have a dumping job queued and it affects them.
Trucks don't change job when dumping is changed.
Also trucks that are dumping when all available designations get finished can end up full of the material being dumped and have to be manually emptied
It would be nice if there was an alert for this, something like "trucks have no place to unload cargo." Sometimes I don't find out until ore sorters backup, or trucks suddenly get very busy because 3/4 of them are full of stuff they have nowhere to put.
The trucks should dump in any available storage at that point, but they don’t
Assuming there is available storage. My trucks are set to dump because current storages are full.
Sure but if there is they should dump there, or the shipyard if they have to, don’t just do nothing
I think this issue report is about the same thing,
but yours uses a more understandable way of stating the issue:
Dumping trucks cannot get rid of the excess cargo
I think this one is slightly different.
I understand the OP expects trucks with a dump job to verify if the job is still valid before dumping.
E.g. a MCT change event that all vehicles have to check for relevance for their job. If not an event, latest when truck arrives at dump site, the truck should check if dumping its load is still allowed. Check for space and materials.
Both things could be addressed. The issue with full trucks going idle is worth an alert as well.
Having one or two trucks idle at a given time is fine, just means it’s looking for a job opening.
Yes, but that’s not what the issue here. It’s trucks full of dirt with no place to dump.
