Rendering issue with housing ghosts at very large scale

Fixed Crash Graphics

i believe these may be related but i think it's worthy of a separate bug report. Memory leak by copying entities (houses)

I experienced a crash after trying to lay out how many housing units it would take to get to 1 million population. I believe this to be a rendering crash related to low vram, however discussing it led to the discovery of a potentially related bug linked above.

Save file from the screenshots is attached.

When the attached game is loaded, does it already use excessive memory, or only after placing more houses?

check this HWiNFO64 screenshot. the maximum of 51 gb happened when it crashed, and the current of 46gb was reloaded looking at the housing. i had HWiNFO64 recording the max/min through the crash

image.png

it reports 19gb used with the game closed, browsing youtube and some stuff. That might still indicate a memory leak that won't fix itself until i restart

Update: did a full restart of my system. reopened youtube and let all the background stuff reopen ( i have a few work programs that auto open) i didnt get a screenshot of ram usage but it was about 13gb.
loading that save i'm right back where i was in the mid-high 40gb range

i'm no expert, but i have a feeling this may be part of the issue:

For the record, a program cannot leak or use memory after its termination. This is enforced by the operating system.

Yes i am aware. if there was a leak, the difference between before and after restart should show it, no?

After the restart of the game, not of the pc\os

You restart the pc if you want a clear baseline without resources reserved to other processes
