Auto Boost based on productivity

Hello Moriarty, it's me again

I noticed the new "auto boost" function, which I find very promising and interesting. I tried it in my world, and turns out it does not work well for me yet (stall every factory at 10% no matter if the storages are full or empty). But it is not the subject here.

I understand the auto boost is based on the emptiness of storages for its computation of going up or down. But what if the boost setting computation were based on the operating rate of each factory ? With an objective of 90/95% for example ?

=> If the operating rate is 100%, it means the factory is always running so too slow => boost +

=> If the operating rate is less than say 90%, the factory is uselessly too quick => boost -

=> Sweet spot is around 90/95% ?

I don't see a case where it does not work... Maybe there is... And I have no idea about the feasibility of such a thing, I don't know anything about programming.

What do you think of that ?

Thank you !

Fabien

Hi Fabien!

See this https://coigame.com/Topic/2017/how-to-set-minimum-values Auto boost 2.0 coming on next update batch. 😊

Hello Moriarty,

Nice project for this update ! Still based on storage emptiness though...

One case where it is useful to rely on productivity is when you have a long chain of production (titanium for example), I will not put a storage between each stage of production for auto boost only, it is wildly inefficient...

Maybe one day, my idea will be worth exploring, I'm sure there is potential... As a way of fine tuning every factory automatically based on itself, not on some random storage... :-)

Thank you

What you can do is target end storage point of the chain and it will auto boost everything in the chain to fill the end storage. For example imagen you make a chain of construction part 1-4 with auto boost groups you can choose to target last storage of construction 4 parts and all will then boost correct to fill that storage. (as long as you have everything calculated correctly in chain to keep up)

Lets wait till i release next update to auto boost and you can try and see and test it. If you still feel that is of come back here and i will try to see if i can do what you want improved for it. 😊
