Coker units

Are the coking units going to be completed? the blue and white checker boards are kind of boring. also just an FYI the coking process is done with oil not coal in the event you were going for realism. Also could you raise the out put I have like ten coking units and they can't keep up with 4 boilers and and 4 advanced smelters.

Love the mod though!!

Coke used as blast furnace fuel is mainly produced from bituminous coal worldwide. There is coke from petroleum (usually called petcoke) where one of the main usages is material for anodes in smelters (so speaking in-game, petcoke should be used for what graphite is now). Some petcoke is also used in blast furnaces, but far less common than coal coke.

Proper graphics for the coking unit will come whenever I manage to produce something (very much not a 3D artists) or someone contributes.

The ratio of coking units to blast furnace II is exactly 1:1, and that is fully intentional. The way I'm trying to balance the various possible pathways to make steel includes workers, space, electricity, maintenance etc of the various supply buildings. I could of course double the output, but to keep balance, size, workers etc would also have to be doubled.

Fair enough i didn't know it could be produced from coal as well, I'm used to seeing it produced from crud oil ( like mountains of it here on the gulf cost).. Just sucks to have to have so many units to make a good amount. since ten can't keep up with eight consumers i just went back to burning coal in the boilers and left the coke for the advanced blasting.

The coke-to-steam recipe isn't really meant to be useful anyway, its main purpose is to be a sink if you for example want the coal tar for whatever reason. Power generation isn't really what it's for.

The coke-to-supersteam recipe on the other hand...

i haven't made it that far yet for super steam, but since you just dropped that little nugget of info I'll be looking for a conversion to my steam process.
