Trying to make a level top so that trucks can deliever the parts needed to extend towers, and trucks can't deliever to stackers building at +14. And dumping doesn't free up the path on the ramp I've made.

the reason I built the ramp in the first place is because they couldn't
Are trucks able to reach the base? My understanding was that's where they had to go, even if the pathing shows as going to the extensions. If you make the base reachable, are they able to deliver to it?

wide open
though this one is about needing an extension soon
so we'll see how it handles
I dont see if the extensions are like requesting to be delivered?
Maybe there are some situations where they need to deliver to the extensions? But yeah let me know what they deliver to because I remember it being a confusing behaviour
thats how i imagined it would work too, especially considering you can dump to +14
but I set it up without the ramp, and trucks couldn't deliever to the extensions because they were buried in dirt
and I tried building the ramp, then the pathfinding bug came up
I don't understand why the trucks are not able to dump there
where is the storage 4?
I think it's the rotation of the boom of the stacker
it reserves space in 3d
and the level is high enough that the truck can't drive into that area
I showed it in the vid
yup confirmed, it's the boom of the tower

so I think this is intended behavior
interesting. maybe the stacker towers have like a plane that isnt navigatable by trucks? I wonder if that could be considered unintentional behaviour? Since vehicles can collide with each other whats the big deal with them colliding with the tower boom? Either way, the trucks may not have to go there, they may only have to reach the tower base? Maybe manually add an extension and see what it does?
well trucks can drive under stackers when they are dumping at +0, not a problem.
but when dumping at +14, the stacker boom itself is at like +16, and so that 2 vertical clearance is not enough for a truck which needs 5 levels
I'm going to guess at +9 stacker offset is when the trucks can't dump under it anymore
though new issue, why can't trucks deliever to extensions
They should want to deliver to the base even though they say they are trying to reach the extension?
Yes but it likely will drive to the base? Is it failing to do it?
interesting
it appears that the answer is... both
idk why that didn't work before

huh. Today I learned. Maybe it is a bug if its inconsistent behaviour
