Do you have discord overlay enabled?

Tried as hard as I can to crash the game, but everything worked fine. It seems to be fixed for me.

Please start a new thread if these crashes are not related to the mining\forest towers overlay.
We also need more context to pin down this issue, logs, save and some description of when it usually happens.

i also ran prime95 on all settings and no hardware errors found

P95 wasn't able to find the issue by itself?

well there was a thing, it didnt find anything running bare but it did show error when i launched a game during stress test (not sure if i was supposed to do that)

after getting memory management bsod i was 100% sure its ram issue

RealisticOptimist · 3 months ago

How did you fix it? Are you certain you did? Because it sounds like CPU's MMU (or OC'ed bus), not DRAM.

trollge10 [discord] · 3 months ago

first try was taking out 2 ram cards since i got 4, it worked - stable gameplay for hours.. then i put other 2 back in and rose voltage to the max allowed, it also helped.. so apparently pc was auto choking everything and i wasnt aware of it

RealisticOptimist · 3 months ago

Yeah, that's (likely) not the DRAM itself. If you want to keep your PC for many years, you should find a solution with less voltage, like lower memory bus clock. The high voltage makes everything from CPU to DRAM age much faster. Anyway, we are OT now. Glad you located the issue in your PC.

Just scrolling, zoomed out, overlay active. Game closed after a minute or so.

just a friendly suggestion - you need more RAM - 8GB doesn't cut it anymore with most games, even the indi lighter ones, because once you add any monitoring software, couple of Chrome tabs and a chatting application like Discord - it's game-over and crash-glore town...

I appreciate the heads up. I don’t generally chat while playing, I don’t play much other than COI, and this laptop is several years old. The few crashes I have had recently are the first such issues for me. If they persist, I will perhaps look at what I can do with the memory, which is more likely than a full upgrade of the machine - it will just depend on prices.
