Construction of a brigde is stuck

ok im compley stuck on the construction of this brigde.

The amphibious trucks wont move the construction material to the segment. Due to the fact that landbased trucks request concrete from the storage (second picture) to the bridge but cant get the job done because the construction side is located on a different island (in ocean). (Picture 1). I try to reset the storage so the game will use the amphibious trucks for the job. But still the trucks on land request the material without being able to delivery it. I cant speed up the construction as well since this piece is located in the ocean.

I had from the start of this construction some minor issue with the which forced me to turn the construction off for the last 2 segments because trucks tende to "try" to grab material from the storage to bring it to another island which they cant. Cause them to get stuck. But now i cant get anything done anymore

found a way to unstuck myself.

But why this bug happened but still unclear: if i remove the binding (second picture Import rules which is strange why does it affect the export?) from the storage the amphibious truck get "unstuck" and now pick up material from the storage on the coast side (and push the request from the trucks away). However still i would consider this game breaking bug/ AI Bug

So 2 questions:

first: Why does the Import rule affect the export of the storage in this way? It make no sense at all it "freeze" the amphibious trucks in place. Second why does the Land bound trucks always request concrete material for the brigde construction but are unable to get the job done

By “binding” you are referring to the “accept assigned only” checkbox?

Captain Matt Captain Matt · 3 months ago

Trucks should not consider these jobs, few patches ago we implemented a new zoning system that should stop trucks from trying to do jobs on other "islands". Thanks for the save, cc @Captain Jeremy.

yeah it make no sense that it affect the export of the storage at all.

as said removing the rule cause the amphibious trucks to move again and pick material up on that storage. (they are assignt to construct work only)

When I load the game the amphibious trucks seem to be working fine

McRib · 2 months ago

Maybe they working fine because this is just a byproduct that the land truck request the material from the Storage and block this way the material request from the am. trucks? So land based trucks that want to build the brigde are requesting the concret for the brigde.

Captain Jeremy Captain Jeremy · 2 months ago

This doesn't seem to be happening in the save you provided

Maybe I didn't run it long enough

Captain Jeremy Captain Jeremy · 2 months ago

I'm still not 100% sure what you consider the issue to be? The vehicle alert? You said amphibious vehicles weren't delivering the concrete due to reservations.

McRib · 2 months ago

i load save 38 and my am. truck are from the start doesnt move at all

they should get materiel from the storage and build the last part

while all storage with concrete have "request" material orders from land based trucks and likely block this way my am. trucks form getting it. However the land base units want to move material to the bridge which they cant because they cant get in water.

Captain Jeremy Captain Jeremy · 2 months ago

How is this the same as the one you linked in experimental? All that one is is a notification that trucks can't reach a valid destination

But I think you're describing an issue with reservations in storage meaning amphibious trucks don't ever get jobs

McRib · 2 months ago

the experimental is the same version as the normal version there is no different in it right now

fuzzy is just confused where to post it

Captain Jeremy Captain Jeremy · 2 months ago

I mean, you're saying the experimental issue is the same issue, but all the experimental issue is is that trucks are reporting that they can't reach a bridge they can't reach.

Whereas you're talking about amphibious trucks failing to build, which is different

McRib · 2 months ago

they are falling to build because the land base trucks trying to finished the job

which they can which cause a grid lock

Captain Jeremy Captain Jeremy · 2 months ago

Ok. I don't think that's the issue on the linked post.

It might be, but that's not clear. So you think the issue is that trucks are reserving concrete so amphibious trucks can't get it?

McRib · 2 months ago

correct and the land base trucks are than stuck as well from time to time they move do another job but basicly a big part of my fleet always report they failed to delivery material to a point which they not suppose to reach.

this massive "requesting" of material blocks than my storage and my am. trucks

and i didnt find a way around it because the land base trucks have somehow a high priority than my am. trucks

Captain Jeremy Captain Jeremy · 2 months ago

Gotcha. The problem is they have no way of knowing that they aren't supposed to reach it. Distinguishing between a building they can't reach but you thought they could and one they can't reach and you know they can't is tough.

When I load it it builds fine. There's notification spam, yes, but the construction works

McRib · 2 months ago

strange when i load it right away my am. truck are just stay in water.

dont move at all

and try to remove the grid lock by forbidde export and reenable it the problem was right back the am. trucks didnt even move.

so why does it not happend in on your PC?

Captain Jeremy Captain Jeremy · 2 months ago

Nope. But I have a few changes that aren't live. Nothing I expected to make a difference to this.
