It would be great if the pump for injecting CO2 into the soil could also work as a pump for injecting water into the groundwater pool.
Also, regarding gas, this mechanic isn't fully expanded in the game yet. It makes logical sense that you could inject other gases—including natural gas and CO2—into that same empty groundwater pool.
One of the game's core themes is that nothing just disappears into thin air, which is why global warming and drought could also be explored further. If carbon monoxide or CO2 gets released into the atmosphere, then the overall temperature should increase.
