@calen the gold mixers are missing a acid pipe
Is it just me or is there no direct Unified Foundry ---> Manufacturing Hub transport blueprint? I managed to connect it on my own but it just doesnt look as pretty as all of your other transport blueprints.
Adding does not work for me. What's strange is that all the other things I've tried so far have worked. But somehow it doesn't like it here. When adding, I get the message: Failed to import the specified string.
Just played through U3 with the unified foundry.
(1) the silicon arc smelters were missing an upgrade step or water line or steam out
(2) I felt like the sand storage was about half what it needed to be, and you needed about twice as much polysilicon production
(3) in most places t3 belts aren't needed but in a few spots they were including the polysilicon production, good use of t2 belts.
(4) the graphite plant to recycle the waste CO2/make electrodes with coal would be nice to add to the plant
(5) similarly, using cooling towers only to cool the steam isn't great, the plant can make its own water easily off of steam using the low steam thermal desalination recipe. I didn't check the math but this might provide enough brine for electrodes and salt for glass.
(6) Since it has exhaust scrubbers, and because sulfur is smaller volume than acid, instead of accepting acid as input the plant can make it's own, I calculated 5 mixers.
(7) the rail station should accept raw ore, and use a central bank of crushers that share inputs (kayser has one)
@iifetap yes connecting the foundry output to hub input is a mess. There's also a mismatch for instance of how many lines of copper ingots go out the foundry vs go in the hub
@Maslygan - Aluminum scrap handling fixed. You just don't get enough bang for your buck with CO2->graphite production for me to want to take up space including it in the Foundry. I'll consider added toxic slurry processing in situ, but they're just so darn bulky. @LordDudel - (thumbs up) @mhcoi2025 - Done and done. @LordDudel - Not a bad idea. @L3ft4d3adt - Fixed in previous build, but definitely fixed in the latest one too. @Yasha - I have no idea why this would be happening. Maybe try from a different browser? @BrickedKeyboard - (1) I don't think it was. Moot though since I've created a new silicon blueprint. (2) feel free to increase to tier IV storage. I don't seem to, but I don't build solar panels. Is that why you need more? (3) I like tier III belts, everything moves faster. (4) See comment to Maslygan. (5) I thought about this too, but did not want to import seawater, but that seems silly now that I type it out. I'll consider this in the future. (6) Done, but I only added 4 since the Foundry is usually not at full capacity until I'm switching to Arc Furnace II anyway. (7) Crushers take up way too much space to place them near the factories. Instead, I crush at the mines where there's a lot more room. @wickys - I made it slightly better in the latest build and include transport diagrams in the latest guide. Prefab belt blueprints are the bane of my existence. :)
Hey @Calen i created this account just for you as you can see from the nickname :) I used your blueprints a lot of times and they are excellent. They must've took your time a lot so i was wondering if you are accepting donations of some sort.
Hi. Wrong "UF Ingress Resource Hookup" for complate build bcs silicon and coal storages change places.
@Calen, I'm new to the game...still learning the ropes, and using multiple blueprints you've created. They have been so very helpful with not only the ability to hit the ground running, but also teaching me a few things about future builds of my own. I just cleared enough space to tackle this one (the Unified Foundry), and excited to step through it slowly. Thanks so much for making time to not only upload these for use, but the detailed explanations on how to implement them. I would absolutely love to support you in some way...do you stream on any of the platforms out there, youtube, twitch, etc...? Thanks again, you rock!
Do you have guides on how to hook up the UF to the Manufacturing hub using the belt transports?
Hey where does the paper and concrete add on fit into it? I can’t seem to get it to line up anywhere with the aluminium and titanium section in position.
Why do all your builds always use the most advanced belt. That uses power and maintenance for them. I just spent a lot of time going back through and downgrading tier 3 belts for items that don't use that much resources. Even as you build up everything most machines are turned off until you build things up. I'd rather go through and see the shortages and upgrade the belts then.
i am in my third playtrough and use this bp for it. really like it and/but have a few suggestions i modified: i deleted the iron smelters since researching assembly 3. you can do anything with steel and do not need iron anymore (in case for upgrading the ship you can use 80 steel for 200 iron in fast trade). and could you please add graphene production from co2 at a late stage? i did it by myself but with ugly belts around the whole factory ;)
Unsure if im doing something wrong however when ingressing resources from the rail-head the coal appears to link onto the graphite storage of the foundry as opposed to the coal bin which a few storages further down. At first i assumed it was a bad placement on my part however found other storages connected as they should be and saw just how far away the coal bin actually was lol.
I've fixed it with some spaghetti but incase anyone else is having the issue - Theres the problem
Great Blueprint! It was a challenge to get it all put together, but your instructions were fantastic! One issue - when you put everything together, the Coal and Graphite inputs switch around, so the egress resource hookup blueprint outputs do not match.
@Calen, sorry, but i dont found Foundry Ingress Transport - Completed Build in Unified Foundry bleuprint. Where is this blueprint?
