Could you please add the possibility of building a dam to generate electricity? That would be ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC in this already incredible game ❤️
Hydroelectric dam !
This would require full water simulation across the entire map to be implemented. This is too big of a feature to be thinking about, at least in Early Access.
Given the terraforming possibilities in the game, a feature like this feels like the ultimate addition and would be especially fitting. That said, I can only imagine how much work it would require—it must be a massive undertaking.Thank you Captain Marek !

what if it didn't require water simulation? I have 2 possible ideas that wouldn't require that
- the dam structure is built against the sea, like using land as a wall to excavate down. Say however far down the damn is built, more power due to gravity. Functionally it would just be a sea pump that can make its own power, with the outflow port all the way at the bottom of the hole. It would require a lot of terraforming to actually make the thing, but it could be an endgame thing for possibly a lot of power
- an inland "dam" of sorts, using existing water collection systems. Groundwater or rainwater, maybe a basin building of some kind, collects water from a higher point on the map, and then is sent through some structure to a lower point. to generate power. the more vertical difference, the more power. This could even act as a battery kinda like real dams of this kind where surplus power can be used to pump water back up. Might be able to reuse parts of the salt battery code for this depending on how it's intended to work.
