Where are the logs
When you report a crash, attach the logs so we can see what happened. Zip them right after the crash, before starting the game again: the logs cover the last two launches only.
💻 Windows
Paste a folder path into the File Explorer address bar to open it. The Crashes folder may not exist, that is fine.
| What | Folder |
|---|---|
Game logs (your saves are next to them, in Saves) |
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Captain of Industry\Logs |
Engine log, Player.log |
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Mafi Games\Captain of Industry |
| Crash dumps | %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp\Mafi Games\Captain of Industry\Crashes |
If the whole PC rebooted or froze, the log is probably cut off. Add --flush-after-each-log --full-flush-logs to the game's launch options (right-click the game in Steam > Properties > General), reproduce the crash once, and attach the log from that run.
🐧 Linux and Steam Deck
The same folders live inside the Proton prefix.
| What | Folder |
|---|---|
| Game logs and saves | ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1594320/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/Captain of Industry/ |
Engine log, Player.log |

📎 What else to include
- The save file. For a large save, a Google Drive or Dropbox link that anyone with the link can open.
- Your CPU and graphics card, and whether mods are installed.
- What the crash looked like: an error box, a black screen, or the whole PC rebooting.
Post it in Bugs.
