Guide: Your first paintjob
β’ Recolor Menu can be found in the calendar HUD ποΈ
β’ With recolor open, Left-Click a building to select it, select a pallet color and hit apply.
Global Paint Brush Tool
Left-Click to apply your selected pallet color to a building.
Right-click building's to eyedrop it's global color for reuse; Escape cancels the tool.
Mesh Overrides
β’ Click More > to see mesh options for the selected building.
β’ Each mesh uses the global color by default, original or otherwise; Browse and select a building's individual meshes, select a pallet color to preview that change, and use the right apply buttons in Edit Mesh to override the selected mesh with the active color.
β’ Once done, you can save the selected Building's full color template in Mesh Templates tab for reuse.
Preview your color pallet choice before applying it to the building.
Mesh Eyedrop Tool
β’ Left click to copy a building's mesh overrides and left click again to spread them to other instances of the same buildingβRight click goes back a stage or exits the tool; Escape cancels anytime.
β’ Loading a saved Mesh Template will load it to the mesh eyedrop tool, ready to go.
Both paint tools can be added to Tool Shortcuts & Not Enough Keybinds' live rebind can give them binds.
Modded Building Assets
Mod-Assets using 2D Textures and meshes can be painted too!

* Fixed some issues that could cause a mesh template to reject it's target building when loading it to the mesh eyedropper tool. * Mesh Templates now tolerate harmless sibling-order and untouched-group schema drift when used on the exact same building prototype.

Hotfix: Mesh overrides now save with the world and restore after loading or restarting the game. ============================= CUSTOM PAINT TOOLS & ADDITONS ============================= * Custom Global Paint Tool. - Left click to apply your selected pallet color to any building. - Right click to eyedrop a building's color for re-use. * Mesh Eyedropper & Paint tool. - The first left-click will eyedrop a building's total mesh-override coloring. - The second left-click will apply those mesh over-rides to a compatible buildings of the same type. - Right click to go back to the eyedrop stage and again to exit the tool, or hit escape at any point to exit the tool. * I just now realized it should just work exactly like the Other tool, and will probably change. * Both tools use building highlighting, paint cursors, and refusal feedback for incompatible Mesh Eyedropper targets. ============ MENU CHANGES ============ * Adds a separate toggle to "Select buildings without opening inspector" while working in the recolor menu. * Adds per-building Mesh Overrides preview to see changes before applying them. * Adds a safety prompt before applying a global color to a selected building that already has mesh-overrides. * Added and undo button while working with mesh over-rides to revert the last color change. * More features and others improvements yet to come.
