With the latest patch the excavators are getting stuck on big landslides

This is expected behaviour if the landslide is this big.

I liked it better before this patch, but if its as expected then I will go with it. Thanks

The fact that you could mine such tall mountains from the bottom is something that is not intended to work well. While it is working now, we are considering adding mechanics to discourage from doing this.

yeah, makes sense, so i guess the proper way is to build a ramp somewhat near the top of the mountain here and take it down a 3 or 4 levels at a time

Captain Marek Captain Marek · 2 years ago

Yeah, even 10 levels at a time should be fine, but not 50

I sometimes dont want to micromanage this 'moving a mountain' project, so dealing with those resets is a pain in that matter. But I understand its not the 'way to go'

Captain Marek Captain Marek · 2 years ago

Hopefully we will be able to improve upon this in next updates, but if you don't want to babysit stuck excavators, try to avoid huge land slides.

The issue with how it worked before was that excavators would often climb up the mountain and be stuck there

I always topped mountains 5ish levels at a time for it to be more realistic. Glad to see the devs are of the same mind πŸ™‚

We wanted to add a feature where excavators that were under a land slide would end up buried and potentially destroyed, but we decided that would be too cruel at this point. Perhaps we can add "realistic mining" difficutly toggle at some point and include this

leggo8776 [discord] · 2 years ago

i would definitely play with that toggled on😏 Would bring a whole new meaning to mining... potentially loosing a excavator due to mining accidents/mining improperly

toungiee [discord] · 2 years ago

early game YSNP would definitely be interesting with that on

Iets tough at the crater map with mountains very very steep with heights of 100 πŸ˜… making a dent in the outer ring is very time consuming with a vehicle cap of 180. Time is precious πŸ˜‡
So yes I will vote for more realistic mining when we get some bigger equipment and higher vehicle cap 😜

How about extra vehicles as a reward for launched rockets? :rocketcoi:

toungiee [discord] · 2 years ago

I like this idea. Still feel like you would have to implement a hard cap though. just spamming rockets to get 1k+ trucks would probably cause crazy lag on most systems

Captain Marek Captain Marek · 2 years ago

Yeah, at that point I'd say just stop building trucks, even if cap allows it!

Yes please 😍 But you can scale it down the higher the cap, So at start you get more vehicles per rocket and at some point you need to spam rockets to get a extra vehicle.
I dont say this gonna be the only purpose for the rockets, we want more use of them πŸ€“ , but its a nice bonus for now
