Crash when loading together with Gameplay++

Lofwyr · 4 days ago

Hello,

I updated Cheat++ and Gameplay++ today. Now, then I try to start a new game with both of them active, the game falls back to the main screen. Each one separately works just fine, problem only occurs if I try to use them together.

I'm on Linux Nobara, if that helps.

Analysis from Grok:

Issue: Crash when starting a new game with both Gameplay++ and Cheat++ enabled (latest versions).

Details:

  • Game version: v0.8.7a (Build 614)
  • Each mod works fine when used alone.
  • When both are enabled together, the game throws hundreds of Duplicate translation ID errors (vanilla strings + Gameplay++ own strings like PipeBalancer, MoltenStorage, GrandMarket, etc.).
  • This is followed by a NullReferenceException in the New Game mods UI (Mafi.Unity.UiToolkit.Library.Window.Open → onModsLoaded).

Log excerpt of the final crash:

text

NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
at Mafi.Unity.UiToolkit.Library.Window.Open ...
at Mafi.Unity.MainMenu.MainMenuScreen.onModsLoaded ()

Also seeing the harmless warning:
[GP++] HeliportHQ: landing-port hook not found

Linux user reported all good yesterday with this proton build "GE-Proton 10-34" can you try that Proton version.

Switching to GE-Proton 10-34 did work, thanks.

I had it running on the Steam Default ProtonExperimental, which worked for the last two months but obviously no longer.
