same issue.

I've encountered an issue I'd like to report.

I have correctly connected two bulk cargo modules to a set of T4 storages, and configured a train with six wagons to operate under a Train Network.

However, when demand is triggered and a train is dispatched, only the first wagon is loaded correctly. The remaining five wagons are then skipped — each connecting and immediately disconnecting while empty — and the train departs with five empty wagons.

Interestingly, when I set up the same configuration using a Train Line instead, all six wagons are loaded correctly before the train departs for the unloading area.

Is this a misconfiguration on my end, or is this a bug?

In your case, the keep empty station isn't linked to the storage behind it. It will then only call a train when it is completely full, and then only up to the stations capacity in this case 480

You're right!

I just tried using the link tool to connect the storage to the loading area. Unlike the unloading side, where the station modules are built directly adjacent to the storage, the loading side uses conveyor belts to indirectly connect the modules to the storage. Because of this, the storage capacity is not automatically recognized by the station.

So the key thing to watch out for is whether conveyor belts are used in between — if they are, a manual link assignment is required.

Thank you so much for your help!

I'm not sure I follow what the issue is here or how it happened. All the station modules are full, there is nothing to balance between them. Storage is full as well. How did this state occur? Did trucks deliver something to the storage before the train could unload?

in my report i supposed it should work in such a way that all stations unload cargo as they were connected via balancer, which means that all stations unload the same amount of cargo

i dont remember what is u4.1, latest update at that point was when train networks were released to public

when i created the post, so that was latest public, non experimental patch

U4.1 was the networks/new arrival conditions patch, but they released a bunch of hotfixes in the next 2 days or so. Thought I'd mention that since it might have been something from there that did it. Would be weird if it didn't work in 4.1 proper, since it literally was a featured change in the dev diary:

lul😆 thankfully I built my stations in a way where I can just pause the problematic modules until they fix this. Not like I need the throughput now anyway.

AFAIK, train module balancing is not intended to achieve the same highest throughput as dedicated transports to each module.

I wasn't trying to to that. I used more modules than needed for throughput to allow the train to occupy a shorter segment of track while being serviced.

Save and images provided don't match, in the save the modules and the storage are already full.
That aside, looks like the system is working, modules don't teleport material but balance the transfer between the adjacent entities (eg sequential not parallel output towards the output belt).

Consumer is idle so the rest of the chain (modules, belt and wagons) are stuck waiting for space to output material to. Having material in a single wagon or split equally over multiple wagons doesn't change the result.

if current behaviour is WAI then this text from the blog post is misleading

players still need to use multiple balances for the best utilization

Is the transfer rate at which modules "balance" their inventory with each other infinite or effectively infinite? I want to know if I can treat modules that are part of the same station as having shared inventory, which informs whether or not there is still increased throughput from connecting belts directly to multiple modules instead of just one.

That's problematic with two T3 belts connected to the same module, right? I mean for any more throughput than that you'd need to connect to more modules anyway for the ports, but looks like I couldn't keep my belts short by as much as I hoped.

So essentially for anything to pass from any module to any other module, they all have to go through this narrow "channel" and the most that can handle is 400/m?
