24 votes Electrical transmission lines 3 · Jackson E.B [ideas] · 1 year ago New content Power & Energy 1 year ago by Richard-L Posted 4 years ago All machines and buildings must be connected to a electrical grid to be able to work. 24 votes Paper 1 · knusobert [ideas] · 4 years ago New content Production & Recipes 4 years ago by grzegorz [ideas] 2 Posted 4 years ago There should be paper in the game (wood-\>wood chips, wood chips\+water-\>paper or something like that). This could come in early on to have more uses for wood. Paper could be (an additional) resource for sciencelabs until you get something more advanced (…

24 votes Solid waste should cause water pollution if dumped in water. 1 · Dvd [ideas] · 4 years ago Balance Environment & Pollution 4 years ago by AR [ideas] Posted 4 years ago From a theme perspective, it doesn't make sense that the game punishes the player for pollution elsewhere, but there's zero water pollution incurred by dumping solid waste into the water. From a mechanics perspective, I would expect this to work as a water…

24 votes Pipe/Conveyor Support Structure Alignment 3 · Ralf [ideas] 2 · 2 years ago Quality of life Logistics 2 years ago by Case_Hardened Posted 4 years ago If you build many pipes or conveyors beside each other in parallel their support structures do not align to each other. This can cause issues so the trucks can no more pass below. (Sure you can twiggle by building piece by piece, still not optimal and user…

24 votes /60s Toggle on Recipe Book Done 1 · Thadius Wynter [ideas] · 4 years ago Quality of life UI & UX 4 years ago by ph3rr3t 2.0 [ideas] Posted 4 years ago Adding a /60s toggle to the Recipe Book would reduce player confusion. I know the /60s toggle state already applies to what's displayed on the Recipe Book. However, recently ran into a user who hadn't made the connection that he was seeing everything in /6…

24 votes Priority for: maintenance, workers, power Done 0 · Captain Filip · 5 years ago Quality of life Population & Services 5 years ago by Captain Filip Posted 5 years ago Be able to prioritize machines / buildings for consumption of maintenance, power, workers etc. So that machines that are critical always get resources. 23 votes Lifts for bulk goods and general cargo display the conveyor belt height 1 · Martin [ideas] 5 · 6 months ago Quality of life UI & UX 6 months ago by Sagard [ideas] Posted 6 months ago Please add a small icon to the construction, similar to the one for conveyor belts, indicating the current height of the conveyor belt at the elevator. This would be very useful, and I hope it's not just helpful for me. Attached: Thank you so much for this…

23 votes one-way bridge lanes 4 · Mike [ideas] 4 · 7 months ago Quality of life Vehicles & Roads 7 months ago by BSCheshir [ideas] Posted 7 months ago As it stands, even the 4 lane bridges will not allow excavators above the small class to access them. Adding the option to set multiple lanes to a single direction so that the larger excavator's to occupy multiple lanes to traverse the bridges would be a H…

23 votes Please allow us to construct underground pipelines 3 · FactorioPlayer · 7 months ago Quality of life Logistics 7 months ago by FactorioPlayer Posted 7 months ago Currently, underground water pipes are allowed to exist, but their construction method is too cumbersome: first digging the ground, placing the pipes, and then backfilling. Why can't we just take it easy? When constructing water pipes, we can simply press …

23 votes Trucks should be able to take on multiple nearly-identical jobs in the same area 0 · Fevix · 10 months ago Quality of life Vehicles & Roads 10 months ago by Fevix Posted 10 months ago If I build 10 short, disconnected conveyor belts, the game dispatches 10 trucks each with 1 unit of construction materials. It would be much more efficient, both for fuel and for maintenance, to have a single truck handle all 10 units of construction mater…

23 votes Let us bury retaining walls 1 · RTG [ideas] · 1 year ago Terrain & Mining 1 year ago by DogOxide [ideas] Posted 1 year ago Retaining walls should not break only by virtue of one side being higher than the wall as long as there is sufficient material on the other side. If they are completely burried there is equal pressure from both sides, and as such they should hold. This wou…

23 votes A contract to IMPORT Rock!!! 1 · Sum Thin Wong · 1 year ago New content World Map & Ships 1 year ago by m6k Posted 1 year ago I think we should seriously consider adding a Rock IMPORT Contract as it is the only consumable raw resource that we can't. It is also used in a lot of processes but also for terraforming and while I get that you may not want that to encourage terrafroming…

23 votes Mining Control Tower -> Mobile Mining Office 3 · SpeedDaemon [ideas] · 1 year ago Quality of life Terrain & Mining Vehicles & Roads 1 year ago by Jamie [ideas] Posted 1 year ago After watching the dev stream \#39, where he's talking about moving mining towers, and how it should be easier... What if, instead of a building, there was an RV-like office on wheels vehicle that served the same purpose. It would remain a physical thing i…

23 votes Thermal storage steam exhange. 4 · UB3 got taped · 3 months ago Quality of life Power & Energy 3 months ago by anode [ideas] Posted 1 year ago What i think would make the thermal storage insanely more useful is the ability to exchange steam, so for example you input low steam and turn it into heat then when you get to a certain amount of heat you can use it to make high or even super steam for th…

23 votes Rubble and Ruins on maps 1 · PTTG · 6 months ago New content Maps & Map Editor Production & Recipes 6 months ago by willvette Posted 1 year ago It would be very interesting to have the ability to place abandoned and ruined st structures on new maps. Narratively, it is appropriate, since the game is set following some kind of economic apocalypse. Ruined buildings fit the theme. Gameplay wise, these…

23 votes Rainwater collector with solar panels 0 · Bram · 2 years ago New content Farming & Food Power & Energy 2 years ago by Bram Posted 2 years ago It would be great to have a late game upgrade for rainwater catchers where solar cells are added: this would give a low maintenance but high space requirement alternative for FBR \+ desalination.
